Parker Lumber was founded in Bremerton, Washington in 1922 when Willard Parker and L. E. Bender bought the old Port Blakely Mill and lumberyard at Second and Washington in Bremerton, the first of several business locations. The company was operated from 1937 to 1994 by Willard's son A. H. "Ike" Parker, a local icon whose outstanding commitment to community service resulted in some of Bremerton's greatest successes, including the Admiral Theatre performing arts center and the Kitsap Family YMCA.
In 1994 Ike sold Parker Lumber to Rick Barnes, formerly president of a large Seattle-area building material retailer. Since then Rick has grown the company through the implementation of industry-leading programs designed to serve customers' construction needs like no one else, while retaining an experienced professional staff who still treat you like one of the family. Our general manager in Bremerton, Tim Lundberg, has been with the company for over 20 years, but several others on our sales staff have been here even longer.
Today Parker Lumber Bremerton is a full service lumberyard and Do It Best Do-It Center hardware store with delivery service to contractors and homeowners throughout the greater Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula areas. And we have grown to include a state-of-the-art contractor lumberyard in the Mill Creek area of Bothell, Washington (Parker Lumber East) as well as two roof truss manufacturing plants, a door and millwork company, a professional design firm, and the Northwest's premier siding installation company. We can handle nearly every phase of your construction project with the kind of people you want to deal with at each step along the way.
